Toy Chest 03:47
Stumbling down that same old worn out path Trying to fit puzzle pieces that don't match That old toy chest with the treasures that he loved best He forgets Her red doll house with toy furniture and matching blouse No one recounts And though the mindset has changed Our hearts stay the same Its still something we're longing for So when I see you here's how you'll know That I tried to let it go Fifteen dollars in the bag I got my money but my money's bad Eighteen reasons to be mad But you still love me and that's why I'm glad Three years that we've spent I know you're waiting and you don't know yet One thing I can say Is that our love will never be in vain So when I see you here's how you'll know That I tried to let it go Three years that we've spent I know you're waiting and you don't know yet One thing I can say Is that our love will never be in vain
2.
Outro 01:08
Because the world is noisy it makes my choice easier When I'm with you I leave cause I don't need to breathe the toxic waste cloud Love waste like this don't need a kiss you're love waste Love waste like this don't need a kiss you're love waste
3.
I used to think desperately That the world was staring back at me Self involved or self obsessed I don't know why it's success Every time that A train arrives Another hundred people step inside It's such a crying shame to have to die But everybody gets a chance to ride Half of the world is having so much fun While the other half sweeps up the crumbs You'll never see me / leave us alone You poison the water / seeds that we've sown Will you sink down underneath the golden tide Or will you climb back towards the lonely purple sky Our little world is so removed I feel bad but we're not moved
4.
You've got some ego for thinking You ought to get what you deserve Nobody taught you the world would exhaust you Things that you want to be able To have come true never do You do you and I'll do me Warped ideology Fake Buddhism Christmas list Anything that you wish Anything that you wish You stay high and I stay low Can't escape the undertow Gurus in your office pool Yoga mats and vegetables Automatic decimals Automatic decimals Cleansing your soul And you're stacking your stones Saying your Oms For a way to change things And get what you must deserve
5.
Opposite your smile is an inside-out grin That's fooling everyone and reeling us in Underneath your cool air is a calculated blast Glad at least that I'm clear Clear out of your path Stuck in a lie Stuck in the lie of your smile How could I have planned this What sense would that have made The one who was abandoned Now the one who feels no pain Sneaky and manipulative Tragic acting side I hope that you've convinced yourself You never lied He's gonna wait Until the trees turn back to gold a hundred times Never to stray Until the leaves all burn away and the oceans rise She's gonna watch All the other ones swept aside / misunderstanding why Chances lost And she'll never know that she was Stuck in a lie Stuck in the lie of your smile
6.
I'm done with doubting myself and asking for help cause nobody cares now Isn't it funny how they just run around like a balloon letting air out Inflate my ego until I need a refill and rise to the surface I used to have a few friends but they got the bends now I just have curses Like a balloon that's floating around You're looking for somewhere that can't be found Nobody knows what we're doing here They play it safe and don't get too near So here's what I do I go to the zoo in the monkey cages you can find me I bang on the glass I open the latch I'm looking for something shiny Tomorrow's sunshine is here today Tomorrow's good times are here to stay Like a good book that's too long to read You tear out my pages and take what you need Empty containers gathering sand Shredded road maps and mountains of cans So here's what I do I go to the zoo in the monkey cages you can find me I bang on the glass I open the latch I'm looking for something shiny
7.
Come So Far 03:50
You must be losing it If you thought I was giving up Cause even though we've come so far That was just the easy part I'm always around Hanging around Making you smile I'm only a friend Don't be afraid Everything ends You got stuck in my head Like a new song Like a loose peg What difference does it make Whether you give Whether you take Lord knows that I've tried to be humble It really doesn't matter The only thing that I believe Has a chance to save us Is being humble And understanding our place in the world Are you sure you're choosing this Cause you thought I was perfect then But even though you've seen my flaws Still you choose to play the odds I'm always around Hanging around Making you smile I'm only a friend Don't be afraid Everything ends You got stuck in my head Like a new song Like a loose peg What difference does it make Whether you give Whether you take There are so many things that we could do And so little that we choose to Lord knows that I've tried to be humble It really doesn't matter The only thing that I believe Has a chance to save us Is being humble And understanding our place in the world
